The Rural Writers Retreat is a three-day event building community and connectivity between writers in northern British Columbia. It offers workshops, professional networking and private project development time, as well as the opportunity to meet, collaborate and share ideas with other writers.
Workshops are balanced with quiet relaxation time and social events in an effort to inspire while also allowing space for private project development and connecting with other writers. Our venue, Banner Mountain Lodge near Smithers, B.C., houses participants in several cozy buildings, allowing for quiet reflection and visiting time, while group workshops are held in the main lodge.
Past workshops have included Aboriginal storytelling, poetry, travel writing, reading performance, developing a writing business, creative writing and researching. Morning yoga, hikes, massage and public author readings have all been part of past events.
